Computer based DVR is much cheaper, but we strongly discourage you to use it. You have to on your PC 24 hours a day and the data is writing to the computer harddisk every second. It is very detrimental to your computer. Your computer's harddisk is very likely to spoiled after 3,4 month and you lost everything on your PC (and we have been hearing these stories everyday!). Standalone DVR is specially made for long-time recording purpose and it is the best practice in usual CCTV systems.

Yes there is some one offering a lower price. The catch is, they don't provide on-site warranty and service. CCTV system could be very complicated. You need to take down everything and send to their company for repair or service in case of hardware malfunction or software misconfiguration. However, we provide one year on-site warranty.
